Located in the heart of the DFW Mid Cities, Project Play is an indoor and outdoor learning studio known for our hybrid school, camps, private celebrations, and open play.
We believe play is powerful and that childhood should be protected.
Meet our Founder
Alera earned her BS from Baylor University and went on to teach as an elementary educator in both public and private school settings. She was named Teacher of the Year in 2015 and received numerous education awards throughout her eight years in the classroom.

In 2026, Project Play was recognized nationally as a VELA Grant recipient for its innovative school model that blends strong academics, play based learning, and childhood centered education.
Today, Alera combines her background in education with her entrepreneurial spirit as the founder of Project Play, a growing indoor and outdoor learning studio in the DFW Mid Cities known for its hybrid Discovery School, camps, celebrations, and meaningful play experiences for children and families.
